Alexandre Moratto is a Brazilian-American director, screenwriter, and filmmaker. His work moves between film and streaming, with movies internationally recognized for addressing social issues through narratives of strong human impact.
He made his feature directorial debut with Socrates, a work screened at major international festivals and winner of the Someone to Watch award at the Independent Spirit Awards, a recognition given to emerging talents in independent cinema. He then directed 7 Prisoners, a Netflix original production starring Christian Malheiros and Rodrigo Santoro, which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and earned international critical acclaim.
Throughout his career, he has received awards and nominations at national and international festivals, building a trajectory marked by productions of artistic and social relevance.
