Luis Lomenha

Luis Lomenha is creator and director of the Netflix original series Os Quatro da Candelária, winner of the ABRA Award for Best Screenplay in a Drama Series (2025), Luis Lomenha is a writer, screenwriter, director, and audiovisual producer. A PhD candidate in Contemporary Art at the University of Coimbra (Portugal), he is the founder of the production company Jabuti Filmes and one of the co-creators of the NGO Cinema Nosso. With more than twenty years of experience in the audiovisual industry, he develops projects for film, television, and streaming, moving fluidly between fiction, documentary, and entertainment.

Throughout his career, he has directed the series Sob Traçantes (Globoplay), the fiction series Invulneráveis (Universal TV), and the reality show No Jogo (E! Entertainment), in addition to serving as executive producer on national and international projects, including the American series Reimagine Rio. He is the author of the books Pretos Versus and A Vingança dos Sete Mares. His work stands out for crafting narratives with broad popular appeal that combine social relevance, dramatic power, and a strong connection to Brazilian reality.
